What We Do
Occupational Therapy (OT)
Occupational Therapy (OT) is about enabling people to participate in activities of everyday living, the things they have to do each day and the things they want to do. For children, this means learning through play, developing relationships with adults and peers, participating in school and extra-curricular activities and completing age appropriate routines such as eating, dressing, toileting etc.
At Kids’ Space OT, we provide an individualized and holistic therapy service to enable each child to achieve their goals. Therapy sessions are play based and goal directed. WE use your child’s interests and strengths to build on the areas in which they are having difficulties we work closely with the child’s family to identify and treat the underlying difficulties rather than simply practice tasks so that we can build a strong foundation on which to build on. This enables the child not only to develop new skills but also to improve their overall confidence and self esteem.
At Kids’ Space OT, we work with children who may have:
- Sensory processing difficulties.
- Gross or fine motor difficulties
- Social or play skill difficulties.
- Attention difficulties
- Difficulties participating in school or extra curricular activities.
- Eating difficulties / fussy eaters
- Handwriting difficulties
If you are unsure if your child would benefit from OT, please do not hesitate to contact us.
